2010-08-17
"... Warsaw University will always remember him, proud that it could name him among its professors" - wrote prof. W. Lengauer, vice rector of Warsaw University in the preface to the first volume of "Collected works” of St. Gregory Peradze, Polish and Georgian professor and Orthodox Saint.

The book was published by East European Studies of Warsaw University, under the patronage of the rector of Warsaw University. The first volume contains works of St. Gregory about Georgian monasticism and liturgy, and autobiographical texts. The editor is fr. Henryk Paprocki.

Works of St. Gregory have been dispersed. Work on the collection and edition of these works started a few years ago. Some of the articles of the saint were published in Polish in the university journal Pro Georgia. Currently, the series has begun to gather in one place all the works of St. Gregory. Series is scheduled for five volumes, issued once a year. The second volume will include papers on patrology and history, the third - literary works, diaries of St. Gregory and others. In the fourth volume we will find young works, and in the fifth - scientific works in German.

The first volume, published in hard, linen cover can now be purchased at Orthodox Pastoral Point of St. Gregory in Warsaw (Wilcza 31 street). In future, it will be also available for purchase in internet, in sklep.cerkiew.pl.
